Commonwealth : Africa’s Speakers Conference Holds In Cameroon

Preparations are heightening for the 18th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth for the African Region that will take place in Cameroon in 2023.
In this light, the Steering Committee Meeting of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth Africa Region took place at the Yaounde Hilton Hotel on November 28, 2022. The Deputy Speaker of Cameroon’s National Assembly, Mary Muyali Boya epse Meboka presided at the meeting on behalf of the House Speaker, Rt. Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril. This was in the presence of the Speaker of the National Assembly of Botswana, Skelemani Phandu, among other high personalities.
In her welcome statement, Hon. Mary Muyali Boya said the Standing Committee Meeting was  to be devoted mainly to finalise preparations for the 18th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth Africa Region to be hosted in 2023 by Cameroon. She said at the end of the meeting that continued in-camera, the agenda, programme, themes and topics for the conference will be elaborated.
