Africa-America Summit : Innovative Perspectives For Cameroon

The Head of State participated in all major events of the just-ended gathering of African leaders and their American counterpart in Washington, D.C.
Two keynote speeches, presence at the US-Africa Business Forum (USABF), participation at a White House dinner, attending leaders working lunch on deepening multilateralism with Africa as well as Promoting Food Security and Food Systems Resilience and granting a private audience marked the full package of activities that preoccupied President Paul Biya during his trip in Washington, D.C. It was to take part at the second US-Africa Leaders Summit that took place from 13-15 December, 2022.
The Cameroon Head of State who jetted into American soil on Saturday 10 December immediately got to work on Monday with major remarks at a two-hour round table conference at The Gathering Spot in NW Washington D.C. Jointly organized by the Milken Institute and Invest Africa-US, the dialogue focused on the theme: “How finance can be a force for good in addressing Africa’s most pressing challenges and opportunities.” Central concern at the conference was on ‘advancing impact and innovation on the continent while addressing global challenges and achieving shared global goals.” Participants exchanged on how best to tackle sustainable financing, access to capital, and investing with impact so as to ensure economic and social mobility.
By Tuesday 13 December, 2022 when the Summit officially opened, the Head of State was again one of the main speakers at the “US-Africa Civil and Commercial Space Forum”. A forum that grouped Ministers in charge of scientific and technological development. Matters related to digital inclusion, mining exploration, climatic changes, control of maritime resources, meteorological previsions, and a lot more attracted the attention of the audience and President Paul Biya again articulated the vision that Cameroon has for those issues and how the African Continent could tap from American technological progress in those fields.
