Public Independent Conciliator : Best Services Prescribed For Council Users

Personnel from six municipalities that make up Lebialem and Kupe Muanenguba Divisions sat through the lectures in Tombel.
The Office of the Public Independent Conciliator (OPIC) for the South West Region has remained keen on its mission to see that users of the Regional Assembly, City Councils and local Councils get timely and quality services. To this effect, it assembled 30 Council workers in key services like transport, civil status registration, hygiene and sanitation, town planning and urban development from Wabane, Alou and Menji Councils, Nguti, Bangem and Tombel Councils in Lebialem and Kupe Muanenguba Divisions respectively, in a workshop in Tombel last Thursday January 12, 2023. In attendance were Deputy Mayors, Service Heads, and Bureau Heads making 15 participants from each Division.
Motaze Telelen Dorothy Atabong, Public Independent Conciliator for the South West, recalled to the participants how her office was created within the Special Status. She reminded them of their ethical obligation of offering quality services to the population. “Attending to the publics’ needs in service is not a favor but a duty. Quality service delivery will greatly satisfy users in your municipalities. This is your own way of contributing to the happiness of service users and by extension, extend the peace and social cohesion in our communities,” she said.
Fonju Njukeng Bernard, resource person, in his presentation spelt out the mission of OPIC that include examining and amicably settling disputes between users of regional and local administration, defending and protecting rights in the relationship between citizens...
