HIV Database : Health Sector Receives New System

This was during a convention signed between the Ministry of Public Health and the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services on Friday January 20, 2023.
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Ministry of Public Health and the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services (CBCHS) for the transfer of the central database “DAMA Online Database” and the provision of the DAMA module for the management of people living with HIV (PLWHIV) in Cameroon was signed on Friday January 20, 2023 in Yaounde. The agreement aimed at establishing the terms and conditions of collaboration between both parties in ensuring that the online system is effectively applied in various hospitals in the country.
The Minister of Public Health, Manouda Malachie signed on behalf of the ministry while the Director of the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) Health Services, Professor Tih Pius Muffih signed on the other hand. Minister Manouda lauded the private-public partnership that exists between his ministry and partners like CBCHS. He acknowledged the technical and financial assistance of CBCHS in developing the software and that the partnership with CBCHS will serve everyone both in the private and public sectors in Cameroon
According to DAMA Manager, George Ndosak, DAMA is an acronym for Data Manager which is the brand name for the software managing HIV data in Cameroon. DAMA is an electronic version of standard national facility registers and reporting tools developed by the CBC Health Services with support from the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
