Household Waste Management : Seven More Dustbin Lorries In Yaounde

Yaounde City Council and its partners are carrying out daily activities to ensure that the capital city is kept clean. Within a public-private partnership, the waste disposal enterprise, THYCLOF presented seven waste disposal vehicles and announced the arrival of more to the Mayor of the Yaounde City Council, Luc Messi Atangana on January 23, 2023 in Yaounde. During the event, Luc Messi Atangana thanked the new operators for the strides made in keeping Yaounde clean. He also called on the population to play a civic role in the disposal of household waste. 
According to Luc Messi Atangana, the population of Yaounde needs to know that as they produce household waste, they should be disciplined in handling it and should be able to manage it in a manner that hump of trash are not abandoned along the road, on water passage or where it is not supposed to be kept. According to the city Mayor, this gives the impression that councils are not carrying out their duties. He explained that HYSACAM was alone until now and was overwhelmed by the volume of work, accentuated by uncivil behaviour from the population. THYCLOF which is out to lend HYSACAM the much-needed support has been on the field for a couple of months now, picking up garbage from certain disposal points.
