Youth Day : Preparation Afoot In Schools

Activities to mark the 57th edition of the Youth Day in the country are currently taking place in various schools nationwide. A tour of some schools in Yaounde reveals that march-pasts, special cultural activities and roundtable discussions on the theme of celebration will grace February 11, 2023.
Yesterday, January 31, 2023, at about 9:30 a.m., pupils of the Saint Joseph Catholic Bilingual Complex School in Mvolye took part in a march-past rehearsal at the esplanade of the Yaounde III Council organised by the Youth and Animation Centre of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education. The rehearsal was organised for schools in the Yaounde III Sub-division selected to take part in the grand march-past on February 11 at the May 20th Boulevard.  Some seven schools in the Yaounde III Sub-division gathered around the Council to rehearse ahead of the D-Day. The march-past, supervised by actors from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education witnessed the singing of patriotic songs, the swinging of arms and footsteps as prescribed by the organising committee. Songs sung by the pupils revolved around the theme of the 57th edition of the Youth Day: “Youth, moral, civic and entrepreneurial rearmament, a guarantee for discipline in building a united and prosperous Cameroon.” Selected schools for the march-past are expected to form a mar...
