March 12 Senatorial Poll : Competing Candidates Known Today

The Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon (ELCEAM) will today publish the list of candidates whose nomination papers have been validated to participate in the March 12, 2023 Senatorial election. This very important stage in the electoral process draws its credence from Section 10(2) of the Electoral Code which states that the Board shall scrutinise candidacy papers and shall publish the final lists of candidates contesting for the Senatorial election.  
Prior to the publication of the list, the headquarters of Elections Cameroon is serene and every staff going on about their daily activities. A space has been earmarked at the courtyard of the institution where stakeholders will seat and listen to the Chairperson of the Electoral Board, Enow Abrams Egbe, read out the list of the political parties that will take part in the election per region. It will be an event open to the public and dispositions have been taken to interpret the statement of the Chairperson into sign language for the deaf. The Communication and Public Relations Unit of ELECAM note that necessary documentation will be given to journalists and other stakeholders of the electoral process for clarity and keeping everyone informed at the same wave length. They add that it will be given in hard (paper) and soft (USB key) formats to stakeholders.
