Bamenda Archdiocese : Five Monsignors Take Office

The Roman Catholic Pope Francis on November 26, 2022 appointed five priests from the Bamenda Archdiocese to the prestigious positions of Monsignors, Archbishop Andrew Nkea of the Archdiocese announced the appointment decision on December  6, 2022 and officially invested the five Monsignors during a mass at the the Bamenda Metropolitan Cathedral on February 17, 2023.
The five Monsignors who took their insignia and other attributes last Friday were: Monsignors John Bosco Ambe, Michael Yuh, William Neba, Anthony Viban and Michael Kintang.  Monsignor is an honorific title given by the Pope at the request of the local bishop to priests who have rendered or are rendering special service to the church. Pope Francis since 2013 decided that the title be given to priests who must be 65 years and above.
Archdiocese Andre Nkea in the heavily attended mass stated the services each of the Monsignors has or is rendering to the church to deserve the honour from the Holy Father.
