Mincom : Women Trained On Leveraging Social Media

A roundtable discussion on the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day took place yesterday, March 1, at the Ministry of Communication.
Women of the Ministry of Communication have been drilled on how to profitably use their smart phones rather than to take nude pictures and post on the social media. This was during an educative talk on Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and its importance to women, yesterday March 1, 2023. The Gender Focal Point of the Ministry of Communication, Mvondo Mbelle epse Essama Elisabeth Florence, said the topics of discussion were derived from the theme of the 38th International Women’s Day which is “For an inclusive digital world innovation and technologies for gender equality.”
Looking at everything taking place on the social media, Essama Elisabeth Florence said it was important for women in the ministry to be schooled in how the ICTs can be beneficiary to them. She said women are active on the internet, but do not know the consequences of what they are doing. While noting that women are the pillars of education in most families, the Gender Focal Point explained that it was necessary for them to be trained on the digital world. This will enable them to better educate their girl child.
