U17 AFCON Preparations : Lions Still To Convice

They lost 2-3 to Senegal in their second international friendly at the Lat Dior Stadium in Thies, on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
All does not seem to be bright for the U17 Lions of Cameroon as they prepare ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations for that category. The cadets Lions lost 2-3 to the U17 Lions of Senegal in the their second international friendly game at the Lat Dior Stadium in Thies, Senegal on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. It was another opportunity to test the skills of the players as they prepare for the challenge ahead.
Assistant Coach, Serge Mimpo and his colleagues gave confidence to six new players to start the game. All key players of the offensive sector were left on the bench in order to evaluate the others. Team Senegal started the game with a lot of engagement and support from the fans that turned out to cheer their team. Amara Diof scored the first goal for Senegal at the fourth minute from a counter attack. The U-17 Lions of Cameroon made several attempts to equalise before halftime to no avail. At halftime the scoreline was 1-0 in favour of Senegal.
Coach Serge Mimpo did four direct changes to start the second half of the game, Yondjo, Abdoulaye, Fi Akamba and Arouna to change the face of the game. That paid off as the Lions equalised at the 4th minute through the wonder boy, Yondjo Matah. Senegal got a penalty at the 50th minute and Amara Diof scored the second goal for his team.
