Investment, Development Opportunities : Stakeholders Explore Collaboration Mechanisms

As part of activities marking the commemoration of this year’s edition of the Commonwealth Day, the Special Council Support Fund for Mutual Assistance has organised a working session with partners within the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council to exchange expertise on enhancing local development. The workshop held at the Ministry of External Relations on March 9, 2023 under the theme “Contribute to making Cameroon’s regional and local Councils a better place with the support of international partners,” and comes after a Memorandum of Understanding signed between FEICOM and the aforementioned Council in December 2022. The working session served as a platform to explore multiple development opportunities for Cameroon as she works towards emergence by 2035. In participation were Mayors, City Mayors, Presidents of Regional Councils and representatives of Commonwealth member nations. 
An opening statement of the Director General of FEICOM, Phillippe Camille Akoa said the workshop is an opportunity to dialogue with policy makers and strategic partners for business and investment ventures. He added that the theme of the 2023 Commonwealth Day (Forging a Sustainable and Peaceful Common Future) underscores the need to foster peace, prosperity and protect the environment for future generations. The Director General noted that the meeting was thus a privileged moment of sharing expertise between FEICOM; an institution that enhances decentralisation and the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council that has a plethora of business prospects.
