Guinness Super League : Lekié FF Emerges Honorary Champions

The first phase of the women’s championship ended in stadiums across the country last weekend.
Power has changed hands in the Guinness Super League championship. Lekié FC are the new leaders of the GSL competition. This is the outcome of the 11th playing day of the Guinness Super League Championship that took place in stadiums across the country last weekend. The girls of Coach Stéphane Ndzana beat Amazonnes FAP of Yaounde 3-1 on Sunday March 19, 2023 at the Olembe Annex B Stadium. Lekié FC’s goals were scored by Brenda Tabe (14th minute) and that was her ninth goal of the season. Two other goals were scored in the second half by Marie Gisèle Ngah Manga and Codelia Achang. Linda Ngatchou scored the one goal for Amazonnes FAP FC. The match equally counted for the last playing day for the first phase of the GSL championship.
Lekié FC ladies have remained unbeaten since the start of the season. This season, the team has scored a total of 35 goals and conceded five. The Lekié team has been able to overpower all the teams except for FC Ebolowa that held them to a goalless draw. Last Saturday’s victory enabled Lekié FC to finish as honourary champions of the first phase of the 2023 season after domination by Awa FC for two seasons.
