Corporate and Veteran Football : Positive Reawakening!

Many footballers have got jobs in several big companies thanks to corporate and veteran football championship.
Veterans’ football is a version of the beautiful game that allows either previous players or older newcomers to kick a ball around at a slower pace that suits them. It’s an excellent way for players to both stay in shape, and also continue playing in a team that so many have been used to, throughout the years. While age minimums do vary between each league, it is usual for most competitions to include players who are 35 years and above. League games are played both during the week and on weekends. In Cameroon, corporate and veteran football had existed for the past decades. The corporate and veteran championship has not been played in Cameroon for almost 30 years.
During the 80s and 90s, it was a very lively championship with large clubs such as the Department of Taxation, National Social Insurance Fund (NSIF) and others. Great players have come out from the championship. In view to relaunch the corporate and veteran championship in the country, FECAFOOT has decided to appoint new members to the national commission for Corporate and Veteran Football and to give them the means to help corporate and veterans play. Corporate football corresponds to company football. It is played with company clubs, and aims to cultivate team spirit and collaboration. Players in the championship are first of all employed by the companies, and they can be 18 years and above. Veteran football concerns adults over the age of 35.
It is the fitness groups, which is commonly called “two-zero” clubs that participate in this category and it is likely to find most of the former footballers there.
