“India Corner” Goes Operational At SOPECAM

The space is meant to provide information about the health, education and tourist opportunities available in India.
The High Commissioner of India to Cameroon, H.E Anindya Banerjee, has opened an “India Corner” at the headquarters of the Cameroon News and Publishing Corporation (SOPECAM) in Yaounde. This was during a solemn ceremony on Friday May 5, 2023 at the newsroom of the National Bilingual Daily Newspaper, Cameroon Tribune, in the presence of the General Manager of SOPECAM, Marie-Claire Nnana and the Deputy General Manager, Shey Peter Mabu. The Indian High Commissioner was accompanied by D. C. Dangwal, Head of Chancery at the India High Commission.
The “India Corner” contains books and other information about India and the different opportunities the country can offer to any visitor. According to H.E Anindya Banerjee, the corner is out to enable Cameroonians to know that India has a good medical system at an affordable cost. The High Commissioner also revealed that higher education in India is attractive and currently hosts many foreigners especially from Africa. India, H.E Anindya Banerjee said, has a lot of tourist sites which have been added to the wonders of the world. One of such is the immense mausoleum of white marble, built in Agra between 1631 and 1648, known as the Taj Mahal.
