51st National Day : Civilian March-Past Under Scrutiny

Rehearsals took place yesterday May 10, at the Reunification Monument in Yaounde.
The Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou, has called on civilians to participate in the 51st National Day march-past at the May 20th Avenue to be fully engaged in the exercise and keenly follow the sound of the bands that will accompany them. He was speaking during the modular rehearsal of the civilian march-past by Basic Education, Secondary Education, Extracurricular, Normal Education, Vocational Trainings, Higher Education, Mfoundi Civil Service and Administrative Reforms staff.
The rehearsals, which took place yesterday May 10, 2023 at the Reunification Monument in Yaounde were presided at by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, in the presence of the march-past trainers. The rehearsals were meant to help the civil sector better prepare for the grand march-past on May 20th at the 20th May Avenue. After several parades of the march-past, Minister Mounouna Foutsou expressed satisfaction with what he saw, but reiterated that some minor adjustments had to be made. As the head of the civilian committee for the participation in the National Day commemoration, Mounouna Foutsou wished that the civilian parade meets up with the military parade which is usually graced with similar movement of the hands and feet. The Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education also demanded that all schools participating in the march-past sing as they pass in front of dignitaries.
