Government Common Entrance : Pupils Write In Tranquillity

Candidates wrote Mathematics and English Language on May 11, 2023.
Final year pupils of the English sub-system of education in the Littoral region joined their counterparts nationwide in writing the Common Entrance examinations into government secondary schools yesterday. By 6am on May 11, pupils were spotted on the streets of Douala heading to their different writing centres. While some went with their parents, other schools took the responsibility to transport their pupils. A sojourn to some writing centres in the Douala V Sub-division showed that all was going on well as invigilators were present at 6:30 am and some parents who dropped off their children stayed back to wait for them to finish so as to take them back home.
A secretariat member of the Le Marseillais- Lay centre, Lobe Fidelis Moloko, said he was at the centre as early as 6 am on May 11 to ensure that all was in order before the arrival of the pupils. He said some 633 candidates registered in the centre amongst which were 279 boys and 354 girls with two absences, and a candidate with special needs. Out of the 633 candidates, he went on, six were writing the common entrance in government technical schools. He disclosed that they had all their writing materials and all what it takes to enable the children write in serenity.
