Banners : Messages Amplify Peace, Unity

The march-past at the 20th May Avenue was enhanced with meaningful placards carried by Cameroonians from different sectors.
Cameroonians from East to West, North to South have hailed the country’s forward march towards emergence. They reiterated that peace and security should concern everyone and portrayed the fatherland to be blessed, united and full of love and forgiveness. This featured in banners that they carried along as they participated in a grand march-past at the 20th May Avenue to commemorate the 51st edition of the National Day under the theme: “Defence Forces And Cameroonian People, In Harmony To Safeguard Peace And National Unity, Bedrock Of A Strong And Prosperous Cameroon.”
The march-past, which lasted close to two hours, revealed that the military, civilians and political parties were glad to be part of a united Cameroon and have rallied behind the President of the Republic for peace, unity and solidarity in Cameroon. The banners clearly said peace and unity are priceless achievements to be preserved. The march-past began with the military. The foot soldiers did not just identify their various units and what they particularly do to maintain peace and security in the country, but displayed faith and dedication in building a stronger and united Cameroon. The civilian march-past was specifically placed under the theme: “Cameroon’s Onward March Towards Her Emergence Through the National Civic Education Programme for Moral, Civic and Entrepreneurial Rearmament (PRONEC-REAMORCE), An Instrument For The Consolidation Of Social Cohesion.” In this light, learners in the different sectors of education through messages rekindled the civic and moral values of each Cameroonian as a tool for peace, social cohesion and living together.
