Grand Artistic Award MINDEF 2023 : Winners Receive Certificates

Nine officers of the defence forces who won prices in the grand artistic award MINDEF 2023 in various categories have been awarded their certificates. This was during a solemn ceremony presided at by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, Saïd Kamsouloum on behalf of Minister Joseph Beti Assomo on May 26, 2023. The awards were in the categories of visual arts, vocal arts and musical arts on the theme; Living Together. Three persons were awarded in each of the aforementioned categories. Staff Sergent Guylaine came first in musical arts category and Lieutenant Bengala Jean Jacques came first in the visual arts (painting) category.
Congratulating the laureates, the Secretary General said the artistic award initiative comes to create a balance in recreational activities within the defence forces in the country. “The theme chosen rests on living together; one of the policy pillars of the President of the Republic. The initiative promotes values of mutual respect, harmony, cohesion and working together as a team,” Saïd Kamsouloum stated. The implication of members of the different corps, the Secretary General said, translates togetherness within the military. Stating that the present context shows that peace is good, he noted that arts helps to galvanise the troops, glory at conflict, a tool of propaganda and supports soldiers on the path to recovery.
