The film has been selected for the Pan African festival, FESPACO in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
Known for producing international award winning feature and short films in Cameroon, Bassek Ba Kobhio and Nkanya Kwai have once more hit the Cameroon film industry with another blockbuster; Life Point. Directed by Brice Achille and written by Nkanya Kwai the comic drama, staring Cameroon actors and actresses such as Gerard Essomba, Ngong Tatiana, and Ayuk Tambi, tells the story of love. Love not as we know and live it every day. Love that melts every barrier, bridges every gap and heals a family in distress.
The film which is largely shot in Buea, South West Region, tells the story of a 75-year-old retired university professor (Mballa Etoa Jacob) who is obsessed with suicide until he meets a young refugee from the Central African Republic. Mballa Etoa’s earlier life centred on his beloved wife. When she passes on, he no longer has a reason to live and embarks on a mission to take away his own life. But when he meets Sa’adatu Ousmane, a Central African refugee runaway he puts on hold his suicide dream.
As Mballa Etoa begins to enjoy a meaningful distraction with Sa’adatu and struggles to understand and define this new love, a logical setback sprout from the stakes and callousness of their lifestyles. The love between them is a mystery as they rea...
