Promoting Peace, Crusade Against Hate Speech : Minister Elung Takes Campaign To Kupe Muanenguba

The Minister, Assistant Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic was in Tombel over the weekend where he held consultations with all the stakeholders of the municipality.
The population of Tombel sub-division in Kupe Muanenguba Division of the South West Region, have been enjoined to sustain the peace they are currently enjoying following the socio-political upheavals that has been rocking the two English-speaking regions. The Minister, Assistant Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Elung Paul Che, while on a political reconnection visit to his native Tombel on June 16, 2023, exhorted the leaders of the different components of the population to embrace the ideals of peace, living together and shun hate speech in the community in order to sustain the peace that reigns in the area.
Minister Elung in the presence of the CPDM MP for Kupe Muanenguba II, Hon Cecilia Njumbe, received in audience various groups including the administration led by Kupe Muanenguba SDO, William Ekema, CPDM Kupe Muanenguba III Section executive, traditional rulers of Tombel, the notables, Bike Riders Association, Muslim community, West and North West communities, amongst others. “We have done a lot of work to demobilise some of our brothers who were involved in the armed struggle and on the other hand, the administration, security and defence forces, elite put their heads together to ensure there is peace in Kupe Muanenguba. So life has come back to normal and we think it is time to reconnect with the base. We took this opportunity to receive all the different composition of the cosmopolitan population of Tombel to get a touch on how they are living and to be sure that government actions and what government is preaching gets to the people,” he explained. The initiative will continue in other subdivisions of Kupe Muanenguba in the days ahead.
