Limbe : Mudslide, Accident Extinguish Five Lives

Inhabitants of Limbe, administrative seat of Fako Division, were on Wednesday July 19, 2023 in tears and pain following different unfortunate incidents that hit their town and snatched five lives. By 2 am on that ill-fated day, the sky opened it flood gates and poured tempest rain that caused a lot of floods in Limbe leaving the population in agony. Among the many houses that suffered the floods, one in Mahoh quarter in Mabeta collapsed when the foundation gave way due to intense rain. Houses in the area are built on slopes prone to landslide. Two boys in their 20’s were buried in the mud. All attempts by community members to save their lives were fruitless. By the time they could reach the victims, life had been squeezed out of them. The mortal remains were deposited at the Limbe Regional Hospital Mortuary. The administration of Fako Division made of the SDO, DO for Limbe I, Fako Divisional Delegate for MINHDU among others visited the site. Paul Efome Ngale, Limbe City Mayor condoled with community members and called on the population to evade risky zones.  The gory images of the ill-starred incident went viral on social medial and plunged Limbe into total wailing. 
By 4:30 pm when the people of Limbe were wiping off their tears, another gruesome killing occurred which sent shocking waves across the deep blue sea. Three persons on a motorcycle were crushed to dead by a heavy duty truck around Limbe I Council premises along the main road.
