Government Action Fair : Twelfth Edition Officially Opens Today

Exhibitions, conferences and meetings characterise the eight-day event taking place under the theme, “Infrastructure development and structural transformation of Cameroon’s economy.”
The 12th edition of the Government Action Fair, popularly known by the French acronym SAGO officially opens today July 24, 2023 at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex. The fair which started on July 22, 2023 and ends on July 29, 2023 holds under the theme, “Infrastructure development and structural transformation of Cameroon’s economy.” Exhibitions, conferences, workshops and meetings characterise the eight-day event.
The objective of the action fair, according to an information leaflet from the Government Authorised Agent, ‘Mon Communicateur Sarl,” is to promote and assure the visibility of government’s action, vulgarise national public policy, implement the policy of social inclusion, reinforce synergy in government action and solicit the adhesion of the population to the actions of public institutions. To that effect, ministries, decentralised authorities, technical and financial partners of government, local small and medium-sized enterprises, public administrative institutions and enterprises, government projects and programmes, as well as the population will make known their services, functioning and innovations to users.
This year’s theme is in line with one of the challenges of the National Development Strategy (2020-2030) which is to develop infrastructure capable of significantly boosting the national economy. Infrastructural development has a direct impact on the socio-economic progress of an economy. Despite indigenous and exogenous challenges, government continues to mobilise resources to rehabilitate or construct modern state-of-the-art infrastructure that will fast-track Cameroon’s emergence by 2035.
