AFBC Elite Championships : Already Two Cameroonians In The Finals

The African Boxing Championship entered the seventh playing day yesterday August 3, 2023 with 24 semifinals bouts in the eighth and ninth sessions at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex. Four Cameroonian boxers competed in different categories. Out of three fights during the eighth session, Cameroon won two. In the women’s 52kg fight, Ngoune Reine Laure beat Nshimirimana Liliane from Burundi on points. Ngoune Laure has thus qualified for the finals. In the women’s 57kg fight, Dorine Stephane Mambou was beaten by Khoulouo Hlimi from Tunisia. In the men’s 48kg bout, Wouang Marchal overpowered African champion, Issufo Yassine Nordine, from Mozambique on points to secure his ticket to the finals. Wouang Martial will meet Lusizi Lubabalo of South Africa in the final. The fourth Cameroonian boxer, Jean Junior Messi Elime, was yet to compete, at press time yesterday.
