Cameroon-DR Congo : Prospects In Expanding Trade Ties

External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella and Ambassador Busaka Muteba Kashadile held talks to that effect on August 8, 2023.

Ways of improving trade relations between Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo have come under review at the Ministry of External Relations. This was during an audience Minister Mbella Mbella granted Ambassador Busaka Muteba Kashadile on August 8, 2023 in the course of which both parties agreed to revamp bilateral ties in the said domain. Other sectors of bilateral cooperation between the two nations were also examined in the close to an hour audience. 
According to the Ambassador, these economic ties need to be improved especially on the side of the Democratic Republic of Congo. “We discussed commercial exchanges for more investors. We need to improve these ties, especially on our side because it has been 33 years that we did not have an Ambassador here in Cameroon. Cameroon on her part has always been very present in the Democratic Republic of Congo with an Ambassador. It is now in my place to see how we can improve these trade relations with the advice of the Minister of External Relations who is very experienced in aspects of diplomacy and bilateral cooperation,” the diplomat stated.  Busaka Muteba Kashadile added that besides holding talks on the actual state of mutual relations, he appreciated the advice which Minister Mbella Mbella gave him when he arrived Cameroon to present the advance copies of his lettres of credence.
