At the death of the pioneer National Chairman, Ni John Fru Ndi, party activities were suspended till his burial, and the first candidacy was only declared a week after the official funeral offered the deceased as decreed by the Head of State.
In the press conference in Limbe, Godden Ndenge Zama who has been District Chair of the party for over a decade, noted that he is ready to defend the interest of the party and meet up with the aspirations of the people. Godden Zama also paid a glowing tribute to the emblematic Ni John Fru Ndi who served the party as Chairman since May 26, 1990 when the SDF was launched in Bamenda. “As Chairman, I want to accompany you; I want to lead from in front so that this great national party can take its rightful place in the Cameroonian nation and finally deliver on its huge promise,” Godden Zama stated.
