Severe Floods In Libya : Cameroon Extends Compassion

September 10, 2023 was not a good day for the people of Libya. Severe flooding, caused by heavy rains in Misrata left huge damages. Two dams burst during the heavy downpour, increasing the water level and damages. Mosque, structures, houses and cars were destroyed. Thousands of people death and several got missing. In the face of this mishap, Cameroon, in the spirit and principle of brotherly fraternity, extended and showed its sympathy. Cognisant of the devastating effects of the flood, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, was at the Libyan Embassy on September 20, 2023 to sign the condolence book. The Minister presented the condolences and compassion of the Head of State and that of the people of Cameroon. “I came on behalf of the Minister, in the name of the government and the people of Cameroon, to extend the condolences of the President of the Republic to the Libyan population. By signing this condolence book, we share in the pain of the Libyan population during this sad situation.” Cameroon’s condolence message, the Minister explained, is an indication that its President and citizens share in the grief of the North African nation during these difficult times. ...
