Television Production : African Media Professionals Learn Chinese Style

After over one-week of theory in Beijing where participants of the Seminar on Young Media Professionals for African Countries were given classes on the evolution of radio and television in China, laying emphasis on the rapid taking over of the new media and backstage production, it was time for practice. The team travelled to Shaanxi Province where they visited two Broadcasting Houses before coming back to Beijing to visit the China Central Television (CCTV) Tower.
In Shaanxi Province, the first stop was at the Shaanxi Media Convergence on September 18, 2023. The Provincial radio and television’s key responsibility is to put the province on the spotlight. During the guided-tour of the organisation, the media professionals were moved by the standard of the many studios. It was explained that the studios are of high quality having all the components to produce the best output. The participants were then taken to other parts of the building including the control and broadcasting rooms where all the back stage work is done for the success of the different programmes aired on both TV and radio.
