Midfield Compartment : Between First Choice, Benchwarmers

The five players called up in this compartment have middling performances in their respective football outfits recently.
A total of five midfielders were called up by Head Coach Rigobert Song for the two friendly games against Russia and Senegal. Globally, the players have been in average form looking at their recent performances especially at the club level.
One of the ace midfielders of the Cameroon’s national team at the moment, André-Franck Zambo Anguissa who plays for Napoli prides self of having been fielded in all seven matches of the Serie A this season with a total of about 544 minutes of the play time. Collectively, the club sits fourth on the classification table with four matches won, one lost and one draw. Napoli conspicuously defeated US Lecce 4-0 in their latest Serie A game on September 30, 2023 with Anguissa attracting much admiration. In the UEFA Champions League, Zambo Anguissa has been fielded in all two matches this far with a total of about 177 minutes played. Though individually, he has not scored or provided an assist recently, the success of his club speaks a lot about his current shape.
The two Olivier’s; Ntcham and Kemen who all play in Turkey have been an integral part of the Lions midfield recently but are middling at club level. Ntcham, who recently moved from Swansea to Samsunspor missed out on the Lions ...
