Decentralisation, Local Development : Secretaries General Thank President Paul Biya

They were at the Ministry of Decentralisation to express appreciation for the September 19, 2023 decree that clarifies their rights and responsibilities.

Secretaries General of Regional and Municipal Councils were on October 13, 2023 at the Ministry of Decentralisation and Local Development to transmit their gratitude to the President of the Republic, Paul Biya, following the September 19, 2023 decree that defines the rights and duties of Secretaries General of regional and local authorities. Led by the Coordinator of the Network of Secretaries General of Cameroon, Olinga Rudolf, who is the SG of the Yaounde V Council, they had a working session with the Inspector General of the Ministry of Decentralisation, Prof. Jean Claude Tcheuwa, who received them on behalf of Minister Georges Elanga Obam. 
The Inspector General told the decentralised officials that they play a fundamental role in the construction and putting in place of the decentralisation process in the country, reason the Head of State has a favourable look at their actions and signed the September 19, 2023 decree. 
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Olinga Rudolf said they took the opportunity to come and see the Minister of Decentralisation and Local Development who wanted to receive them but for other professional constraints, to say thank you to the Head of State for having signed such a decree which details the attributes of Secretaries General of decentralised authorities as well as their allowances.
