Valorising Mathematics Sciences : Joint Efforts For Better Training

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Higher Education and an African Institution on Friday October 20, 2023.
The Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Jacques Fame Ndongo, has signed a partnership agreement with the African Institute for Mathematical Science –Next Einstein (AIMS-NEI). This is to facilitate the implementation of the third generation Cameroonian University system which places the employability of graduates, quality assurance, digitalisation, development support and financing of higher education at the heart of its priority missions, through concepts such as University-business and Student-Entrepreneur. He signed the accord on Friday October 20, 2023, with the President of the AIMS-NEI network, Professor Sadi Kabanzi Yala.
Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo said the agreement was not just the materialisation of the effective participation of AIMS-NEI to participate in grooming mathematics students in Cameroon, but also a renewal of the fruitful and successful collaboration thanks to an African initiative, to propel an excellent tool for research in Mathematics as a basis for new scholarly knowledge in topics such as digital technology, astronomy, nanoscience, etc., of which mathematical modelling constitutes the cornerstone. The Minster of State revealed that AIMS-NEI meets the values and priorities of the New University Governance prescribed by the Head of State. Thanks to AIMS-NEI, Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo said that which seemed inaccessible, or in the realm of absolute mystery, is gradually within reach to many people. “Through the partnership, the royal road to a tremendous opportunity for popularization and appropriation of a discipline formerly called the science of the gods is opening up like a boulevard,” the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education underlined.
