Provisional Electoral Lists : Potential Electors Make Verifications

Consultations on the provisional electoral registers published by Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) are ongoing. In the Centre Region, all offices of the elections management body are open, ready to note down corrections from persons of voting age who had themselves enlisted. The lists are published at the billboards or walls found at the entrance to the waiting hall of ELECAM council branch offices. This makes it very easy for consultation by concerned persons. Its publication on October 20, 2023 nationwide for verifications so that necessary modifications cane be done where need be, is in accordance with Section 78 (2) of the Electoral Code. The said legal disposition stipulates that “After keying in, carrying out technical checks and drawing up the provisional electoral register of the Division, the Head of the Divisional Branch of Elections Cameroon shall forward the corresponding electoral registers to the Council Branches concerned for posting up no later than 20 October.” Elections Cameroon respected the deadline and posted up the said lists in all ten regions. 
Following the publication of the provisional electoral registers, any political party or elector may refer any irregularities or omissions noted. The observations are noted by an ELECAM official present. A visit to some council branch offices in Yaounde was made with staff in the office ready to take out remarks.
