South West : NASLA Students Begin Military Training

Some 407 students from the National School for Local Administration are undergoing basic military training at the Mutengene Police College.

The first-ever batches of cycles A and B of the National School for Local Administration (NASLA) in Buea, started a 30-day basic military training at the Mutengene-based Police College last 18 October, 2023.
The Director General of NASLA, Tanyi Tiku E. Bayee, accompanied his students and entrusted them to the authorities of the Police College to begin the training. They have thence begun a basic military training that will earn them the status of reserve officers and so ready to be called for duty in the future should need arise. More importantly, the students of NASLA who shall be employed to man local councils of the country, are so being equipped with necessary abilities to direct the council police that have become a reality in Cameroon.
The 407 NASLA Students were received in the school campus and subjected to reception procedures, initiation and practical training. The training has as objective to initiate the future staff of local government to military life as well as being capable of organizing the local council police upon graduation and employment.
