Israel : Fighting Against Hamas, Not Palestinians

Twenty five days after Hamas’ attack on Israel, the wounds are still fresh with many questions on how and why it happen still pending. To throw more light on the October 7, 2023 attack, H.E Noga Lewenstien, Israel’s Deputy Chief of Mission to Cameroon on November 2, 2023 had a chat in Yaounde with the press during which she said Israel is not at war with the Palestinian people, but against the Hamas.

She said the ongoing conflict is as a result of the atrocities committed by Hamas on innocent citizens, especially harmless civilians. She added that because Israel has the right to defend herself, the government has decided to carry out both air and ground attacks in Gaza, Hamas strong positions with the aim of annihilating the tourist group so that never in history an attack like that should ever happen against the Israeli people. She regretted the fact that, Hamas uses human shields, placing most of its military assets within civilian homes, offices, malls, schools, churches and hospitals.

After the screening of two videos that showed how some of the horrible scenes committed by Hamas, H.E Noga lamented that 25 days after the attack that left more than 1,400 people dead and 5,431 injured, the International Red Cross has not been allowed access to any of the 240 hostages...
