U17 FIFA World Cup : Mali Plays For Bronze Tomorrow

The only African side standing was defeated by France 1-2 on Tuesday November 28, 2023 in the semi-finals in Indonesia and meets Argentina in the third place match this Friday.

The hope of clinching a world title at the 2023 U17 FIFA World Cup in Indonesia has been dashed for Africa. The last team standing, Mali, was knocked out in the semi-finals 1-2 by France on Tuesday November 28, 2023. France kept the faith and made the right choices to come from a goal behind to beat Mali.
The Africans put up a tough fight against the Europeans. Much less dominant than in the quarter-finals against Uzbekistan, Jean-Luc Vannuchi's players suffered from the start against the Malian fury. In goal, Paul Argney held his own for a long time before finally making a fatal mistake just before the break. It was Ibrahim Diarra who did what no other player has done at Indonesia 2023, by scoring against France. France had gone for record five matches in the tournament without conceding, Yvann Titi and Ismail Bouneb both scored for France in the second half to give them the victory over the African side.
France will face Germany in the final of the ongoing FIFA Under 17 World Cup in Indonesia
