Nigeria : Super Eagles To Fly The Continent

With the last AFCON trophy coming over a decade ago in 2013, Nigeria will be looking to add to their increasingly dusty trophy cabinet.


The Nigerian senior men’s national team is pooled in Group A of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations to kick off January 13, 2023 in Côte d’Ivoire. The Super Eagles secured their ticket to the 2023 AFCON as Group A leaders in the AFCON qualifiers, having amassed a commanding 15 points out of a possible 18. The draw for the 2023 AFCON placed Nigeria alongside the host nation and two-time champions, Côte d’Ivoire, as well as Guinea-Bissau, whom they met in the qualification phase, and Equatorial Guinea.
With the tournament fast approaching, the build-up coverage is reaching a fever pitch and Head Coach Jose Peseiro and boys know the task ahead is tough.
