Cameroon-ILO : Country Director Officialises Presence

Kouamé Claude Yao handed his letters of introduction to Minister Felix Mbayu on December 14, 2023.

 

The newly designated Regional Director for Central Africa, and Country Director for Cameroon of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), Kouamé Claude Yao has presented his letters of introduction to the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu. This was during an audience the Minister accorded the labour specialist on December 14, 2023.
Born on November 1961, Kouamé Claude Yao is an Ivorian who has a Masters degree in Project Management from the University of Québec, Canada, obtained in 1993. He also has an engineering diploma in conception of public works, gotten from the National Advanced School of Public Works, Yamoussoukro in Côte d’Ivoire.
Prior to his designation as ILO Regional Director for Central Africa and Country Director for Cameroon, Kouamé Claude Yao was specialist in high-intensity investment policies and programmes at the Department of Employment and Policy in Geneva, Switzerland, a position he occupied between 2019 and 2023. For some eleven years (2008-2019), Kouamé Claude Yao was Senior Technical Specialist for Employment at the sub regional office of ILO for the Sahel in Dakar, Senegal. The now Country Director of ILO has equally served as technical specialist and international expert in employment-intensive investment programmes, at the sub-regional office of the institution for Central Africa in Yaounde Cameroon, between 2003 and 2008.
