Diaspora : Mbeumo Out For Three Months

His Brentford club reported on December 15, 2023 while stating that the player will miss the AFCON.
“Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo will be side-lined for three months following an operation on his ankle,” the club reported December 15, 2023 on its official website. “Mbeumo will not participate in the Africa Cup of Nations,” head coach Thomas Frank confirmed but added that “Bryan is a positive guy. It’s tough to take, but he will come back stronger. He has a very good mind-set.” Going by this declaration from the club, the player is officially out of the 2023 AFCON but only the final list of the Lions will give a clear cut on whether he is participating or not.
It should be recalled that Mbeumo, who has 10 goal contributions in 15 Premier League games this season, limped off during the Bees' 2-1 Premier League defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion earlier this month.
