Star Building : Japanese Ambassador Says Goodbye

Prime Minister, Joseph Dion Ngute granted a farewell audience to Ambassador Takaoka Nozomu yesterday December 20, 2023.
The Japanese Ambassador to Cameroon, Takaoka Nozomu who has come to the end of his diplomatic stay in Cameroon received at the Star Building by Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute, yesterday December 20, 2023. The farewell audience granted the diplomat was an opportunity for both parties to review progress made on bilateral relations for the past two years during his tenure in Cameroon.
In a statement to the press after the audience, Ambassador Takaoka Nozomu said he also used the opportunity to thank the Prime Minister for the collaboration received, which facilitated his diplomatic assignment. “The Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute has been very a strong supporter of the strong bilateral relations between Japan and Cameroon. So I used this opportunity to thank him and express my gratitude for making it very easy for me for the past two years to do my job. I touched on the various areas that Japan and Cameroon have made progress in terms of their bilateral collaboration, like in the investment and opening of PLAYCE in Wada, Yaounde,” he stated. Other success stories highlighted by the Ambassador is the empowerment of women in the North West, South West and Far North Regions of Cameroon on income-generating initiatives. Enhancing rice production, cocoa production facilities and improvement of efficiency are other aspects which recorded significant strides, as stated by Takaoka Nozomu. To him, they intend making Cameroon a centre of spreading the Japanese model of technology and agriculture. “All these successful collaboration was made possible under the leadership of the Prime Minister, so I thanked him for that,” he reiterated.
