Commonwealth Enterprise, Investment Council : Trade, Stock Opportunities Presented

Within week-long activities marking the commemoration of the 2024 edition of the Commonwealth Day holding under the theme, “One Resilient Common Future,” the Ministry of External Relations has organised a symposium on trade and investment opportunities for Cameroon in the Commonwealth. The conference which held on March 5, 2024 and featured two sessions was presided at by the Secretary General of the Ministry of External Relations, Chinmoun Oumarou, on behalf of the Minister. More specifically, the symposium focused on the theme, “Harnessing the trade and investment potentials of the CWEIC platform and network to deliver on the National Development Strategies (NDS-30).” It was equally an opportunity for the Secretary General to acknowledge work that the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council has been doing to facilitate trade and investment within the Commonwealth market place. “More than ever before, Cameroon has, especially in recent years, under the esteemed leadership of the Head of State, taken the resolve to search for new outlets of economic interest, and fully explore the business potentials under the CWEIC framework. In this vain, the government through the Ministry of External Relations, established a government strategic partnership with CWEIC on January 1, 2018. The Minister Plenipotentiary added that since then several institutions in Cameroon have joined the Commonwealth Organisation to deepen ties. The Cameroon National Shipper’s Council (CNSC), Investment Promotion Agency (IPA), Kribi Port Authority (PAK), Special Council Support Fund for Mutual Assistance (FEICOM), the Cameroon Businesswomen Association, Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation (CAMWATER) and Cameroon Telecommunications (CAMTEL) are some of the said institutions expanding trade and investment oppor...
