MINREX Digital Transformation Centre : Foundation Stone Laid

External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella, represented of the Head of State, at the ceremony yesterday April 16, 2024.

The foundation stone for the digital transformation centre of the Ministry of External Relations has been laid. The official ceremony that took place on April 16, 2024 was presided at by the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella, representative of the of the Head of State. 
The ultra-modern structure to be constructed on a 3,000 metres square surface area, consists of four floors. It is within the framework of the partnership agreement signed between the government of Cameroon and Impact Palmarès Group with the goal of accelerating the digitalisation process of the consular services of Cameroon. Indeed, the two parties signed an agreement on April 1, 2022 for the putting in place of the E-Visa platform and the subsequent construction of a digital centre two years after the signing of the contract. Thus the laying of the foundation stone. According to the presentation of the architect of the project, the state-of-the-art digital centre for the processing and safeguarding the storage of all data of the Ministry of External Relations and other relevant services will consist an of ICT laboratory, two fully equipped meeting rooms, a modern conference hall with a wired interpretation system, a well-tailored archiving and digitalisation room, and a call centre that will be operating 24 hours a day. There will also be a telepresence room for high-quality videoconferencing sessions, open-plan offices that can accommodate 10 workstations, a management unit, and a large waiting room to temporarily accommodate all visitors to the Centre. 
External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella while chairing the ceremony said the Centre is designed to meet current and future technological challenges, so as to enable Cameroon’s diplomacy to operate effectively in an ever changing world.
