Real Estate Corporation : Cité Verte Buildings Undergo Rehabilitation

After a long wait, occupants of the Cameroon Real Estate Corporation (SIC) buildings located at the Cité Verte neighbourhood in Yaounde will soon heave a sigh of relief from the dilapidated nature of their homes. Revitalisation work is effectively taking place to restore and rehabilitee the exterior and interior spaces of these buildings. 
On April 16, 2024, Cameroon Tribune visited the Cité Verte, SIC, locality. Rehabilitation work was taking place precisely at the W, V, Xpair, Ximpair, Yimpair, Zpair and Zimpair buildings. The Director of Programmes and Projects at the Cameroon Real Estate Corporation (SIC), Mama Medza Charles says the major rehabilitation works taking place at the Cité Verte, SIC, site concern a total of 126 buildings, affecting some 830 households. He revealed that three enterprises have been hired to execute the project which is expected to be completed by the end of the year. 
In a nutshell, the renovation and rehabilitation works taking place at the Cité Verte SIC locality involve restoring both the exterior and interior spaces of the buildings while adding new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Mama Medza Charles also revealed that the sanitation network will also be renovated as well as the provision of drinking water supply. The doors will also be replaced, toilet systems restored as well as metallic carpentry work carried out in the entire buildings. Painting and fencing of the Cité Verte SIC buildings will crown the major rehabilitation works currently taking place.
