Bamenda : Preparations For Feast On Course

Defence and security forces have started rehearsals, while different planning sub committees have been holding their sessions.
The North West Regional Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique on April 23, 2024 set the ball rolling in preparations for a hitch-free and memorable celebration of the 52nd edition of Cameroon’s National Day come May 20, 2024 at the regional capital Bamenda and the entire North West Region in general. The event will take place on the theme, “Army and Nation: Together for a united, peaceful and prosperous Cameroon.”
Governor Lele Lafrique on that day convened and presided at the first preparatory meeting of the celebration at the conference hall of the Regional Delegation of Public Works. Gathered for the meeting that brought together his close aides, were also top defence and security officials, Regional Delegates and heads of autonomous services. It was the occasion for the North West Chief Executive to give instructions on the meticulous preparations for a successful feast taking into account the security situation of the region.
To ensure a positively memorable National Day celebration in Bamenda, sub committees were created with clearly spelt out terms of references. The mobilisation subcommittee chaired by the Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam Simon Emile Mooh for example, has reportedly held its planning session. The Communication Subcommittee on its part headed by the North West Regional Delegate of Communication, Njike Celestine met on April 30, 2024.
