Female Military Might On Display

At the 52nd anniversary of the Unitary State on May 20th, during the parade, the strength of women in building a nation was highly demonstrated.
Cameroon proudly celebrated its 52nd National Day yesterday May 20th, 2024 with a spectacular military parade shining a spotlight on the incredible strength of women in the military and the impressive strides made in building a united and peaceful nation. Under the watchful eyes of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, President Paul Biya and a score of dignitaries, women in the different military corps, marched-past at the 20th May Boulevard in all grandeur and self-assurance as a sign to attest that what men can do, they too have done and can still do in ensuring peace and unity in Cameroon.
In the military parade, which lasted over 45 minutes, with Brigadier General Melingui Nouma Donatien, Inspector of Forces-Army Staff- Central Services of the Ministry of Defence, leading the troops, the female folks within the troop fully displayed their military might amidst applause from on-lookers. Prominent amongst them was the First Lady of Cameroon, Chantal Biya. It is certain that the march past would have been incomplete without the women. Celebrating under the theme “Army and Nation: Together for a United, Peaceful and Prosperous Cameroon”, the female folks, in an aesthetic and colourful manner, marched-past, to the rhythm of the bands of Presidential Guard, the National Gendarmerie, the main band of the Army and the National Security Band.
