2024 CAF Champions League : Al Ahly Wins 12th Title

Egyptian giants Al Ahly continued their dominance of African football, securing a record-extending 12th CAF Champions League title with a narrow 1-0 victory over Tunisia's Esperance Sportive de Tunis on Saturday May 25, 2024. The triumph at Cairo International Stadium marks Al Ahly's fourth consecutive Champions League title and further solidifies their position as the undisputed kings of African club football. 
Saturday's encounter was a tense affair, following a goalless draw in the first leg held in Rades, Tunisia. The deadlock was broken early on, however, with an own goal by Esperance defender Roger Aholou in the 4th minute. Despite the early setback, Esperance fought valiantly throughout the match. Both teams traded chances under the electrifying atmosphere of the Cairo crowd, with resolute defending on both sides preventing further goals. The threat from Esperance continued but Al Ahly had their own opportunities to extend their lead. 
In the end, Al Ahly's resolute defense and the early own goal proved decisive. It eventually ended 1-0 in favour of the club of the century who were crowned champion...
