Celebrations at the country’s High Commission in Pretoria were co-chaired by H.E Anua Gheyle Solomon Azoh-Mbi and a representative of the South African government.

Just like most other diplomatic and consular posts, the 52nd edition of the National Day was commemorated at the High Commission of Cameroon to South Africa, with the High Commissioner, Anua Gheyle Solomon Azoh-Mbi having offered a reception to the diplomatic community and the Cameroonian community in the country on May 20, 2024 at the Country Club of Pretoria.
With 2024 marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cameroon and South Africa, the National Day in Pretoria took on a special cachet and served as a setting for a solemn and convivial celebration of the pearl jubilee. In this context of double commemoration, the reception was co-chaired by H.E. Solomon Azoh-Mbi and Boitumelo Moloi, Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour, representative of the South African government.
Keynote speakers in their respective speeches appreciated the positive bilateral relations and the common desire of the leaders of the two countries to intensify and diversify cooperation through the establishment of the joint commission. For this celebration, emphasis was placed on the prospects of cooperation in key areas likely to boost the development of the two countries such as trade.
