First Korean-Africa Summit : Cameroon Actively Participates In Deliberations

External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella heads the Cameroonian delegation and read the statement of the Head of State at the high-level gathering.
Representatives from 48 African countries, including 25 State leaders are taking part at the first edition of the Korea-Africa Summit taking place in Seoul under the theme "The future we make together: Shared growth, sustainability, and solidarity." Cameroon is taking part in the deliberations that began yesterday June 4, 2024 with the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella, leading the country’s delegation, in his capacity as personal representative of the Head of State. He also read the statement of President Paul Biya at the Summit. The opening plenary was chaired by the President of Korea, Yoon Suk Yeol who in his opening statement stressed on the need for enhanced cooperation between Korea and Africa.
President Paul Biya in the statement read by Minister Mbella Mbella at the high-level gathering notes that the summit offers an opportunity to strengthen relations and forge a common future, based on frank cooperation and a mutually beneficial partnership. “In this regard, I would like to remind you that the ties between Africa and South Korea are long-standing and multifaceted. They are marked by shared challenges and opportunities that deserve to be exploited, given the potential of Africa and South Korea,” partly reads the statement.
