Ocean Division : SNH, Partners Present Development Projects

The information session that held on June 7, 2024 in Kribi also witnessed the first injection of gas to the KEDA Ceramic Tile Factory by the National Hydrocarbons Corporation.
Within the framework of keeping locally elected-officials and elite of the Ocean Division in the South Region abreast with the projects being carried out in the locality by the National Hydrocarbons Corporation (SNH) and its partners, an information session was on June 7, 2024 organised by the institution in Kribi. The information session was presided by the representative of the Executive Director General of SNH, Nathalie Moudiki, in the presence of the President of the Association for the Development of the Ocean Division, Jules Doret Ndongo.
Amongst the projects presented is the supply of naturel gas to a tile producing factory of the Chinese group KEDA, where about 3.5 to 6.5 million cubic feet of gas is sent to KEDA by SNH per day for the production of ceramic tiles, for domestic consumption. The 30-hectare factory has a production capacity of about 50,000 square metres of ceramic titles per annum. Between 1,000 to 3,000 jobs were created at the construction phase and will continue in the production phase. The officials were taken to the site, to see the project so that they can better relay the information to the population who are expected to guarantee its protection.
SNH officials led by Nathalie Moudiki also took the personalities to the gas treatment centre in Bipaga, where gas collected from the sea is processed before being transmitted to partners. At the centre, PERENCO is the operator and produces five different types of gas for the domestic and international markets. For the national market, the three types of gas treated there are the Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) with a production capacity of 35,000 tons per annum which supplies about 25 per cent of the local market, Gas to Power (KPDC), with a production capacity of 28 million standard cubic feet per day, and Gas to Industry which is the one being supplied to KEDA.
