Nguti : Population Sensitized On Communal Responsibilities

The Office of the Public Independent Conciliator for the South West Region also urged the council to live up to its ethical obligations.
Vital services in Nguti Council such as civil status documents, hygiene and sanitation, revenue collection and urban development are expected to improve in the days ahead. The council staff were reminded of their ethic obligations towards the population on June 7, 2024 at the Nguti Council Hall. The session was organised by the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator for the South West Region. They brainstormed how the council workers should enhance services delivery to meet the expectations of the service users. The users on their part were told on how to approach council service with responsibility and maturity.
Eyabi Cadinas Eyabi, President of Cameroon National Youth Council-Nguti Municipality, praised OPIC for the synergy it has created between the population and Nguti Council. Eyabi Cadinas said that they had had a lot of obstacles in accessing council services. It even got complicated in the face of the sociopolitical crisis affecting the North West and South West Regions. He indicated that the interactions with OPIC awaken the consciousness of each stakeholders’ role as each person now know exactly what to do. Masi Delphine, a trader, she now understands her responsibility as a trader towards the council. Other participants indicated that they have seen the need to pay their taxes and participate in community development.
