2024 Miss Cameroon : Chantal Biya Crowns Beauty Pageant

Noura Raïssa Njikam from the North Region took home the coveted Miss Cameroon crown at the end of a coronation ceremony held at the Yaounde Sports Complex on June 28, 2024. The First Lady of Cameroon, Chantal Biya, graced the event with her presence. Several government ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, dignitaries and a vibrant crowd answered present.
At about 11:30 p.m. on that eventful evening, the ever-smiling First Lady in all elegance mounted the podium. It was time to unveil the beauty queen after a little suspense. Screams of joy accompanied the First Lady at the mention of the name of Noura Raïssa Njikam as Miss Cameroon 2024. Noura Raïssa Njikam in a stylish manner presented her neck as the First Lady placed the sparkling crown on her head. Smiles and applause accompanied the exceptional moment in the life of Noura Raïssa Njikam. She takes over Princesse Issié, Miss Cameroon 2023. 
The beauty pageant from the North Region outshined 27 hopefuls, most of whom were beauty queens from the 10 regions of the country. Her first runner-up is Vanessa Foé, Miss Centre and Aïchatou Bobo, second runner-up from the Adamawa Region. The competition lasted three-hours. It started with all the 27 contestants parading the stage in self introduction while displaying confidence and self-esteem. Dressed by local designers, the girls cat walked across the aisle in all glamour. In traditional attires, casual wears or swimming suits, contestants happily paraded as they pulled applause from their different fans.  After the first round, 12 contestants where shortlisted for the second round. 
The 12 contestants later paraded in evening wears. Thereafter, six contestants were selected who will have the chance to wear the crown. Among them was Miss West Region, Lea Mokam who was the 14th contestant, Foe Vanessa Gaelle, from the Centre Region, the 11th contestant, Miss Adamawa, Aishatou Bobo, the 10th contestant, Miss East Region Josée Antoinette Ceran Capharcie the 8th contestant, Miss North Region, Njikam Raissa Noura, the 7th contestant and Miss South Region Mbessa Belibi Larissa who was the 15th contestant.
