Golden Jubilee 50 Headlines, Telling The Tale

50 front-page headlines! To grace celebrations making 50 years of existence, Cameroon Tribune has published a special magazine titled “50 Front Pages for Posterity”. The magazine tells the history of Cameroon Tribune (CT) through striking headlines that mark five decades of news reporting in an objective, educative, constructive and entertaining manner. 
The journey began on July 1, 1974. Today, July 1, 2024, the newspaper is celebrating 50 years in gold. Fifty years on, the magazine shows that the newspaper has kept the faith as a national flagship ready to highlight various government actions while taking into consideration the interest of the masses when it comes to decision-making. The publication goes down memory lane, recalling some of the ideal moments in the life of Cameroon Tribune during the past 50 years. It brings into the limelight some of the striking headlines that have over the years captured national and international news. Most of the headlines will recall some of the glorious and sad moments in the history of Cameroon and the world in all the sectors: political, economic, society and sports alike. These front-pages reveal the continuous presence of the newspaper when it comes to news gathering and publication over five decades. The political changes in the country from the resignation of Amadou Ahidjo to the arrival of Paul Biya and democratisation, the exploits of Cameroonian athletes (Olympics, Africa Cup of Nations, World Cup...), major sad events such as the crisis in the North West and South West, battle against Boko Haram, Covid-19, Nsam and Nyos disasters, devaluation of the FCFA, September 11 attacks), Sad notes also portray departed great men within and out of the country as well as social news beats...
